Wheeling-Pittsburgh sees Q2 to be lower than prior view

Fri Jun 29, 2007 6:01pm EDT

June 29 (Reuters) - Steel maker Wheeling-Pittsburgh Corp. WPSC.O said it expects second-quarter results to be lower-than-expected due to unplanned outages, increased scrap costs and weaker demand for flat rolled products.

The company said it expects EBITDA loss for the second quarter of about $25 million, after including the favorable effect of a $9.5 million business interruption insurance recovery. (Reporting by Neetha Mahadevan in Bangalore)
