Noven's lithium product fails to meet main goal

Oct 8 (Reuters) - Noven Pharmaceuticals Inc NOVN.O said its once-daily lithium carbonate product, Lithium QD, failed to meet its main goal in a late-stage trial.

The primary goal was to determine the efficacy and safety of the product compared to placebo in the treatment of acute symptoms of mania in patients with bipolar I disorder. (Reporting by Aradhana Aravindan in Bangalore)
