Nordstrom December same-store sales fall 4 percent

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Upscale department store chain Nordstrom Inc (JWN.N) said on Thursday that December sales at stores open at least a year fell 4 percent.

Analysts, on average, were expecting same-store sales to fall 4.1 percent, according to Reuters Estimates.

The Seattle-based retailer said preliminary data indicated total sales for the five weeks ended January 5 fell 3.8 percent to $1.2 billion.
