Abraxis gets FDA approval for chemotherapy drug

Oct 17 (Reuters) - Abraxis BioScience Inc ABBI.O said U.S. health regulators approved its unit, Abraxis Pharmaceutical Products, to market chemotherapy drug Epirubicin hydrochloride injection in four dosage forms, two of which are new to market.

The company said the remaining two dosage forms are marketed by Pfizer Inc (PFE.N) as Ellence.

Abraxis expects to launch Epirubicin in single dose vials in the fourth quarter. (Reporting by Ratul Ray Chaudhuri in Bangalore)
