Microsoft to serve ads on financial site EDGAR

NEW YORK, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) and financial information site EDGAR Online Inc (EDGR.O). said on Wednesday they have signed a strategic alliance to offer relevant advertising and content on each other's sites.

Under the agreement Microsoft will be the exclusive third-party provider of display, contextual and video advertising for EDGAR Online. For its part EDGAR will provide content, such as as Securities and Exchange Commission filing documents to MSN Money, the personal finance page of Microsoft's MSN portal.

Microsoft is expected to begin serving the ads on EDGAR Online in March while content integration on MSN Money is expected to launch later this year. (Reporting by Yinka Adegoke, editing by Dave Zimmerman)
