Scripps quarterly profit rises
NEW YORK, April 24 (Reuters) - Publisher and television broadcaster E.W. Scripps Co. (SSP.N) said on Thursday its quarterly profit rose about 22 percent fueled by strength at its TV networks and its Shopzilla comparison shopping Web business.
First-quarter net income was $84.1 million, or 51 cents a share, compared with $68.5 million, or 42 cents a share, for the same period in 2007.
