Novartis submits Tekturna combo for US approval

ZURICH, May 21 (Reuters) - Swiss drugmaker Novartis AG (NOVN.VX) said on Monday it had filed a single-tablet combination of its Tekturna high blood pressure drug and a diuretic for U.S. approval.

New clinical data, to be presented on Monday in Chicago, shows Tekturna significantly lowers blood pressure over a one-year period, both alone and in combination with the widely-used diuretic hydrochlorothiazide, Novartis said.
