Oct 7 (Reuters) - Maker of bar-code readers ScanSource Inc (SCSC.O) forecast first-quarter sales below market estimates.

ScanSource expects sales of $535 million to $543 million for the first quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with $553.7 million a year earlier.

Analysts on average were expecting revenue of $546.7 million, according to Reuters Estimates.

Shares of the Greenville, South Carolina-based company closed down 91 cents at $23.08 Tuesday on Nasdaq. (Reporting by Sandhya Menon in Bangalore; Editing by Pratish Narayanan)
