UPM-Kymmene CEO says magazine paper market improved

HELSINKI, Sept 10 (Reuters) - The world's top magazine paper maker UPM-Kymmene Oyj (UPM1V.HE) said on Tuesday the market for its key product had improved.

"The magazine paper market has improved," Chief Executive Jussi Pesonen told a news conference.

Earlier, UPM said it has seen further weakening in demand for newsprint, and said it would close plants and slash 1,600 jobs. [ID:nLA25127] (Reporting by Brett Young, Writing by Tarmo Virki)
