LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Broadway actors Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele have been cast in "Glee," a musically themed project for Fox.

Television

The hourlong comedy centers on Will (Morrison), a thirtysomething Spanish teacher at an Ohio high school who has the daunting task of taking over the school's glee club, which has become a haven for outcasts.

Michele will play the club's self-obsessed "star female singer."

"Glee," from "Nip/Tuck" creator Ryan Murphy, is on a fast track for a March launch. It will feature as many as four musical numbers per episode.

Morrison has an extensive Broadway resume that includes roles in "The Light in the Piazza," which earned him a Tony nomination, "Hairspray" and his current stint in "South Pacific."

Michele's Broadway credits include "Spring Awakening," "Les Miserables" and "Ragtime."
