LONDON, Oct 1 (Reuters) - British investment bank Numis Corporation (NUM.L) Plc said its full-year profit would meet forecasts, as its strong capital position helped it attract business amid current banking industry turmoil.

In a trading statement, Numis said it expected its pretax profit for the year to Sept. 30 to be in line with market expectations.

"With our strong balance sheet and no debt, Numis is in an excellent position to weather the current market turmoil," Numis chief executive Oliver Hemsley said.

Numis made an operating profit during the second half of its financial year, the company added. (Reporting by Myles Neligan; Editing by Paul Bolding)
