LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Comcast is expanding its slate of new movies available on demand the same day as the DVD release.

The rollout is part of the Philadelphia-based cable operator's previously announced Project Infinity, which aims to expedite delivery of top Hollywood movies, network and cable TV series in high definition to its 24.2 million subscribers.

A company rep said the VOD releases were separate from ongoing video-on-demand DVD tests with studios and other cable operators in Pittsburgh and Denver.

"Warner Bros. and New Line have started making select titles available nationwide to Comcast and other cable operators day-and-date with DVD," Comcast spokesperson Jenni Moyer said.

New movie titles include the Jodie Foster-starring "The Brave One," which hits stores on DVD February 5; food-themed comedy "No Reservations" (February 12); and "Rendition" and "Michael Clayton," both February 19.

Other titles, also available in HD but already out on DVD, include "Shoot 'Em Up," "Mr. Woodcock" and "Invasion."

In addition, "The Bourne Identity," "The Bourne Supremacy," "The Bourne Ultimatum" and the three "Rush Hour" films are available as trilogies separately on VOD.
