Vivendi dismisses speculation might buy Premiere
PARIS (Reuters) - French media group Vivendi (VIV.PA: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) on Friday dismissed recent speculation it was interested in buying German Pay TV broadcaster Premiere (PREGn.DE: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) as mere "rumors".
"I can confirm that these were rumors we cannot control," said Bertrand Meheut, the chief executive of Canal Plus, the Pay-TV unit of Vivendi. Meheut was speaking at Vivendi's first-half earnings news conference.
