Disney buys Disney Store chain from Children's Place
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Walt Disney Co (DIS.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Thursday it acquired the Disney Store chain in North America from Children's Place Retail Stores Inc (PLCE.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz).
Disney bought 220 Disney Store locations in the United States and Canada, but that the actual number of acquired stores will depend on the outcome of negotiations with landlords.
Disney also obtained the right to close about 98 stores in the U.S. and two in Canada, but did assume those stores' leases.
