Google's purchase of Postini gets antitrust OK
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Google Inc. has received U.S. antitrust approval to acquire Web-based security provider Postini, U.S. officials said on Wednesday.
Antitrust authorities completed their review of the $625 million deal without taking any action to block it, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission said in a notice.
Last month, Google said it planned to buy Postini to expand its package of online applications to compete with Microsoft Corp.'s Office.
