* To resume staffing, production at Carlsbad facility
* Bad weather hit production in Dec 2009
May 19 (Reuters) - Intrepid Potash Inc (IPI.N) is working to resume full staffing and production at its Carlsbad, New Mexico facility, it said in a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
In Dec 2009, Intrepid experienced a substantial production disruption at its Carlsbad, East surface facility as a result of sub-freezing temperatures in the region.
As a result, Intrepid estimated that potash production at the facility would be limited to about 2,000 tons of saleable product in December, a nearly 90 percent fall from historical average monthly potash production at the unit.
Intrepid had earlier said it expected normal potash production levels at the facility to resume in late January 2010.
Shares of the company closed at $25.28 Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Isheeta Sanghi in Bangalore; Editing by Roshni Menon)
