Israel PM: new missile shield stopped two rockets

PRAGUE, April 7 (Reuters) - Israel's new missile shield intercepted two rockets in its first known deployment on Thursday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday.

"Our Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted two projectiles successfully," Netanyahu told a news conference during a visit to Prague.

Earlier on Thursday, a Reuters photographer saw an Israeli missile intercepting a rocket fired from Gaza. (Reporting by Jason Hovet)
