Moody's says may downgrade Italian banks

NEW YORK, June 23 (Reuters) - Moody’s Investors Service on Thursday threatened to cut the credit ratings of 16 Italian banks and two government-related financial institutions in the next few weeks, following a possible downgrade of Italy’s sovereign rating.

It also revised to negative from stable the outlook on the ratings of another 13 Italian banks.
