LONDON, March 22 British regional newspaper group Johnston Press Plc (JPR.L) said on Sunday it is not actively looking to sell any of its UK titles, including The Scotsman.
"There is a process formally under way to dispose of titles in the Republic of Ireland," but nothing similar in the UK, said a company spokesman.
An approach was made for the Scotsman a few months ago which Johnston rejected, said a source close to the firm.
The Sunday Telegraph reported that Johnston was "open to offers" to sell The Scotsman and the Yorkshire Post in order to reduce its 477 million pound debt pile.
The newspaper group, which cut its final dividend earlier this month, said it is due to finish renegotiating its banking facilities by June.
