JPMorgan hires Chan Bhima for its coal business

LONDON, July 27 (Reuters) - U.S. bank JPMorgan (JPM.N) has hired Chan Bhima to run its global coal business and its gas, power and environmental markets trading in London, the company said on Monday.

Bhima, previously at Merrill Lynch, will join the firm at the end of the year and report to New York-based Paul Posoli, global head of gas, power, and environmental markets, JPMorgan told Reuters.

“He is joining JPMorgan with three other members of his team -- Miguel Abreu, Shetal Patel and Shen Shen Wong,” the bank said. “We see this as an important step toward the expansion of our global coal footprint.”

Mansoor Sheikh, who over the past four years has been responsible for the development of the bank’s gas, power, environmental markets and coal businesses, will be moving to the global commodities proprietary desk in London. (Reporting by Pratima Desai; editing by James Jukwey)
