ALGIERS, May 11 (Reuters) - Floods caused by torrential rains have killed seven people and partially damaged roads in eastern Algeria over the past two days, officials said on Sunday.

Two corpses were found on Saturday following heavy rains in Setif province, some 300 km (180 miles) east of the capital Algiers, they said.

Two brothers aged eight and nine years were swept away by a river in spate when they were walking home from school on Saturday in Batna region, about 430 km (260 miles) east of Algiers.

Three other people died as floods swept away their cars in the same province on Friday, the officials added. (Reporting by Hamid Ould Ahmed; Editing by Alison Williams))
