BANGKOK, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej said on Tuesday a state of emergency he announced to end anti-government protests would not last more than a few days.

"I will do my best to normalise the situation as soon as possible," Samak said in a televised news conference. (Reporting by Vithoon Amorn; Writing by Darren Schuettler; Editing by Alan Raybould)
