BAGHDAD, March 23 (Reuters) - Gunmen in three cars opened fire on pedestrians in a southern Baghdad district on Sunday, killing at least seven and wounding 16, police said.

There were few details of the shooting, which took place in Zaafariniya, a religiously mixed neighbourhood. Such drive-by shootings have become rare since U.S. and Iraqi forces launched a crackdown on militants in the capital last year.
