Twelve tourists injured in Maldives explosion

MALE, Sept 29 (Reuters) - Twelve tourists have been injured in an explosion in the Maldives' capital, Male, local media and a witness said.

The explosion took place just after 1500 local at the entrance to the capital's Sultan Park, a stop-off for all tour groups in the capital.

One British national, one Japanese and eight Chinese tourists have been confirmed among the injured.

All are believed to be from the Full Moon, Baros and Soneva resorts.
