FINANCIAL NEWS:
SAIGON GIAI PHONG
-- Partly private Eximbank said it would issue 158 million new shares as bonus shares next month to raise its registered capital by 21.9 percent to 8.8 trillion dong ($494 million). The Ho Chi Minh City-based lender is 15 percent owned by Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (8316.T).
THANH NIEN
-- The Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange said it had granted initial licences for two more companies to list a combined 31.2 million shares.
ECONOMIC AND GENERAL NEWS:
VIETNAM NEWS
-- Vietnam will start a two-month campaign next week to tackle the trafficking of women and children, with the police drafting plans to combat rings operating in border regions, especially those in the areas near China and Cambodia.
SAIGON GIAI PHONG
-- Vietnam's footwear exports could fall short of the annual target of $5.1 billion this year and only reach $4.7 billion, on par with last year's revenue, due to the global economic recession and rising exports from India and Tunisia, industry officials said.
LAO DONG
-- No Vietnamese patients infected with the H1N1 flu virus have developed resistance against Tamiflu, the Health Ministry said.

-- The number of H1N1 flu cases in Vietnam has jumped to 299 but 247 have recovered, the Health Ministry said.
-- Demand for cars has picked up as consumers rush to take advantage of a car tax break of 50 percent of the registration fee and value-added tariffs which will expire by the end of this year.
