-- Foreign investors have been net buyers on Vietnam's stock exchanges in the past two weeks, while they have been net sellers on the bonds market, market data show.

-- Bad debts in Vietnam's banking sector rose to 56.5 trillion dong ($3.2 billion) at the end of May or 3.85 percent of outstanding loans, 30 percent higher than at the end of 2008, Saigon Securities said in a banking outlook report.

-- Construction of the $68.5 million Cau Cui port in the southern city of Can Tho started last Saturday. Once completed in 2012 it will be the largest port in the region, officials said.
-- Vietnam has approved two agreements allowing Israeli and Swiss diplomats to enter the country without a visa.
VIETNAM INVESTMENT REVIEW
-- The municipal authority of Hanoi has approved a $7 billion project to build a new residential area along the Red River banks, aiming to secure the city against floods and develop a modern urban zone, officials said.

-- Flash floods and landslides could strike northern provinces in coming days after a storm made landfall on Sunday evening, affecting the northern province of Quang Ninh and the port city of Haiphong, forecasters said.

-- Vietnam's first wind power plant in the central province of Binh Thuan is expected to start operation in August. The $55 million plant will have a capacity of 30 megawatt.

-- The Finance Ministry said it would closely monitor world crude prices this week in order to adjust domestic retail prices.
