Nine killed in bomb blast in central Pakistan
MULTAN, Pakistan, July 13 (Reuters) - At least nine people were killed and dozens wounded when a bomb exploded on Monday in a house in Pakistan used for teaching Koranic lessons to children, police said.
More than a dozen mud-built houses collapsed after the powerful explosion shook a village near Mian Channu in Punjab province.
"It appears that the blast was caused by some explosives placed inside the house," said Kamran Khan, police chief of the area. A doctor at the town's hospital said at least 60 people were wounded. (Reporting by Asim Tanveer, writing by Zeeshan Haider; Editing by Jason Subler)
