- INDONESIA WELCOMES MALAYSIA POLL RESULT

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono welcomed the outcome of Malaysia's election and said Jakarta would continue its relations with Kuala Lumpur under Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi, a presidential spokesman said.

Yudhoyono also said he hoped Malaysia would remain stable despite Abdullah's ruling coalition losing its two-thirds majority in parliament.

At least 35 people have been killed as a result of bad road conditions in Jakarta over the past two months, police records shows. Many roads in Jakarta were damaged over the rainy season.
