ISTANBUL, Oct 22 (Reuters) - These are the leading stories in the Turkish press on Monday. Reuters has not verified these stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.

MILLIYET

- All eyes on the government. 250 PKK members, crossing into Turkey from Iraq, killed 12 Turkish soldiers. Turkish troops killed 32 terrorists and the survivors fled back to Iraq.

- Message from the counter-terrorism meeting of senior officials: we will not shy away from paying the price.

RADIKAL

- The whole of Turkey is outraged: in several provinces tens of thousands take to the streets to condemn the attack on Turkish soldiers.

HURRIYET

- We are behind you. The Turkish people rally tightly behind their army and parliament.

- Referendum with the lowest turnout in Turkish history. Sixty-nine percent say "yes" to constitutional changes allowing public to elect president.

CUMHURIYET

- Enough already! A treacherous ambush kills 12 soldiers, injures 16.

- Provocative statements from Iraqi President Talabani and Iraqi Kurdish leader Barzani: we won't hand over any Kurds to Turkey, not even a Kurdish cat.

- Lack of clarity from referendum: the "yes" vote won with a low turnout while people at border polling stations voted on a different text. CHP opposition party leader Deniz Baykal did not vote.

DUNYA

- Guler Sabanci, chairwoman of conglomerate Sabanci Holding (SAHOL.IS), says strong lira hits production.

- Government plans to increase special consumption tax on white goods to 20 percent from 6.7 percent.
