BAGHDAD, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Iraq's parliament on Sunday passed a long-delayed election law paving the way for a national election in January after overcoming disagreements over the disputed city of Kirkuk, a lawmaker said.

The parliamentary election is seen as a crucial test for the world's 11th largest oil producer as it emerges from years of sectarian carnage and civil strife unleashed by the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. (Reporting by Ahmed Rasheed; Writing by Jack Kimball; Editing by Kevin Liffey)
