WASHINGTON, April 7 (Reuters) - Former Cuban President Fidel Castro was "very energetic" during a meeting on Tuesday in Havana with a visiting U.S. congressional delegation, one of the U.S. lawmakers who participated in the meeting said.

"Three of us met with Fidel Castro today and I must say ... former president Fidel Castro was very engaging, very energetic, (and) discussed a wide range of issues," Representative Barbara Lee told a news conference in Washington.

The group of Democratic lawmakers met the 82-year-old Castro at the end of a 5-day visit to the Communist-ruled island, and Lee said they all agreed that it was time to end the U.S. embargo on Cuba.
