BEIJING, Feb 15 (Reuters) - Chinese police have arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of murdering nine people from the same clan at a Lunar New Year feast in a village in the northern province of Hebei, a newspaper reported on Friday.

One of the victims was a child aged five, the Beijing News said.

The suspect, who was arrested on Thursday, was involved in a land dispute with members of the clan, and might even have been a member of the clan, the newspaper quoted villagers as saying, though police have yet to confirm either report.

It did not say how he allegedly killed the nine. (Reporting by Beijing newsroom; Editing by Ben Blanchard)
