China train collision kills 43, injures 247

BEIJING, April 28 (Reuters) - At least 43 people were killed and 247 injured when two passenger trains collided in eastern China early on Monday, the official Xinhua news agency reported, citing railway authorities.

One train was en route from Beijing to eastern city of Qingdao when the accident happened in Zibo, Shandong province. The second train was travelling between Yantai, in Shandong, and Xuzhou in the neighbouring province of Jiangsu. (Reporting by Beijing newsroom, writing by Lindsay Beck)
