Nov 30 (Reuters) - Here are the latest developments in Pakistan on Friday.

HEADLINES

- Musharraf says to end emergency rule on Dec. 16.

- Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif says after meeting opposition colleagues they have decided "in principle" to boycott Jan. 8 general election; says will consult rival Benazir Bhutto and aims to reach final decision at all-party conference.

- Musharraf sworn in as president for second term, this time as civilian leader after quitting as army chief.

- Police clash with lawyers in Lahore.

QUOTES

"I'm fully determined that the emergency will be lifted on Dec. 16. God willing, the election should be held under the constitution in a free and transparent manner."

- Musharraf

"We welcome this step. I think you have to give President Musharraf some credit here ... Certainly, we had been in communication with him, but I think that he made this decision on his own."
