Quake of magnitude 4.8 jolts central Japan-NHK

TOKYO, March 28 (Reuters) - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.8 jolted the Noto peninsula on the west coast of central Japan on Wednesday, public broadcaster NHK said. The quake struck at 8:08 a.m. (2308 GMT Tuesday).

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage and no tsunami warning was issued.

A powerful earthquake in the same area on Sunday killed one person, injured over 200 and destroyed hundreds of homes.
