(Reuters) - Police have arrested three people on suspicion of being involved in one of the country's biggest Internet-based music and film piracy rings, officials said on Wednesday.

Here are five facts about the cost of music piracy in Britain:

* 37 million fake CDs were sold in 2005

* Each year, piracy costs the industry 16.5 million pounds in lost album sales

* The average price of a fake CD is 2.48 pounds, compared to 8.15 pounds for a genuine record.

* About one in 10 people has bought a pirated CD.

* Four in five music pirates illegally claim benefits
