Travel Picks: World's top 10 hotel balconies

SYDNEY (Reuters Life!) - As luxury hotels compete for guests, it's not just the five-star in-room amenities that count, but also balconies with hot tubs, sun-loungers, bars -- and great views.

Men's website AskMen.com has come up with a list of the world's top 10 hotel balconies. This list is not endorsed by Reuters:

1. Atlantis Resort & Casino, Bridge Suite, Nassau, Bahamas

At $25,000 a night, the Bridge Suite at the Atlantis Resort & Casino in Nassau is positioned atop a bridge that connects the hotel's Royal Tower buildings. The balcony overlooks the entire resort and marina, with the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.

2. Palms Resort & Casino, Hugh Hefner Sky Villa, Las Vegas

This balcony, which hosted the likes of Kanye West, Common, Soulja Boy, and T-Pain during the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, overlooks the glittering Las Vegas Strip. As well as having enough space for a party, the balcony boasts a cantilevered Jacuzzi pool with glass end-wall and the Playboy logo.

3. The Hotel Cipriani, Palladio Suite, Venice, Italy

Built above a shimmering blue lagoon with dozens of floor-to-ceiling windows, it's not hard to see why the Palladio Suite at the Hotel Cipriani is its most coveted. The suite has access to a stunning terrace that features an outdoor heated plunge pool flanked by fragrant jasmine bushes. There's also a Jacuzzi, from where you can admire Venice's canals.

4. The Oberoi Udaivilas, Kohinoor Suite, Udaipur, India

The Kohinoor Suite has all the luxurious amenities a regal guest could ever dream of -- including an oversize balcony with its own manicured garden and a 66-foot private swimming pool that overlooks Lake Pichola.

5. The Bowery Hotel, Bowery Suite, New York City, NY

The Bowery Suite on the 14th floor has its own private terrace complete with spacious seating area as well as outdoor showers and a Jacuzzi.

6. The Delano, Terrace Suite, Miami, Florida

The luxurious Terrace Suite is even named after the 1,000-square-foot terrace that fans out in front of it. It is home to enough potted plants to start a small rain forest, beach house-style wooden-decking underfoot and sun-loungers where guests can bronze without ever leaving the suite.

7. The May Fair Hotel, Penthouse Suite, London, England

The glass-sided balcony runs the length of the entire suite and may be narrow but affords stunning views of the city and comes complete with its own bar. Paris Hilton hosted a party here when she was in town to film her latest reality show.
