Morgan Stanley commodities chief is leaving-WSJ

NEW YORK, July 2 (Reuters) - Morgan Stanley (MS.N) commodities chief John Shapiro is stepping down in a surprise move and will be replaced by two of his colleagues, The Wall Street Journal reported on its website on Wednesday.

Shapiro, 56, will retire and be replaced by Simon Greenshields and Colin Bryce, both 52, the Journal reported.

Greenshields runs Morgan's successful gas and power trading business, and Bryce most recently ran European sales and trading across all markets after running the company's European commodities business, the Journal reported.

Attempts to reach Shapiro at his home and Morgan Stanley officials were unsuccessful. Greenshields and Bryce could not be reached.
