Brazil's currency, the real, weakens 1 pct against dollar

SAO PAULO, June 7 (Reuters) - The Brazilian real fell 1 percent against the U.S. dollar on Friday after Standard & Poor’s revised its outlook on long-term ratings for Brazil’s sovereign debt to negative from stable on Thursday, citing deteriorating fiscal fundamentals and slow economic growth.

At 9:02 a.m. (12:02 GMT), the real lost 1 percent to 2.1440 per dollar.
