U.S. crude rises 47 cents to settle at $87.20 a barrel

NEW YORK, Dec 17 (Reuters) - Front-month U.S. crude oil futures rose 47 cents to settle at $87.20 a barrel on Monday, lifted by news of the impending expansion of the Seaway crude oil pipeline and optimism about a deal to avert the U.S. fiscal cliff.
