UPDATE 1-Major Gulf gas hub shut due Ida - Enterprise
(Recasts, adds Viosca Knoll, West Delta 68 shut)
HOUSTON, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Independence Hub, a major supplier of natural gas to the United States, was shut in as a precaution due to Hurricane Ida, owner Enterprise Products (EPD.N) said Monday.
Viosca Knoll and West Delta 68 platforms also were shut, an Enterprise spokesman said.
Independence Hub, which at its peak produced about 900 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, had been producing about 700 million cubic feet per day due to repair work, the spokesman said.
Viosca Knoll, another platform also in the projected path of Ida, was producing about 130 million cubic feet of gas per day at the time it was shut, the spokesman said.
West Delta 68 has no production but is a connection point for the Independence Hub pipeline to shore, the spokesman said.
Independence Hub is operated by Anadarko Petroleum (APC.N) for an ownership team including Enterprise and Helix Energy (HLX.N) Solutions Group Inc.
