(Ferrari corrects target for China to be one of top five, not three, markets)

BEIJING, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Fiat's (FIA.MI) Ferrari luxury car unit expects China to become one of its top five global markets in five years due to the growing ranks of wealthy Chinese, a senior company official said on Tuesday.

Ferrari aims to sell roughly 600 units in China per year over three years, Marco Mattiacci, its Asia Pacific chief executive officer told Reuters in an interview.

China is currently among Ferrari's top 10 markets. Ferrari has sold around 650 cars there since it entered the market five years ago, Mattiacci told Reuters at a company event to unveil a 599 GTB Fiorano model.

With its fast-growing affluent population, China, already the world's biggest car market, has become attractive to the world's biggest sports car brands.
