Hon Hai's Q3 beats f'casts as tech demand returns
TAIPEI, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Hon Hai (2317.TW), the world's largest electronics parts maker, reported stronger-than-expected results on Friday, pointing to a return in tech demand and boding well for clients such as Sony (6758.T) and Apple (AAPL.O).
The company made a net profit of T$46.68 billion ($1.4 billion) in the first nine months of the year, it said in a release to the Taiwan stock exchange.
Reuters calculations of the company's figures indicated a net profit of T$18.31 billion for the third quarter of this year. Analysts were expecting a net profit of T$17.3 billion, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S. (Reporting by Kelvin Soh; Editing by Chris Lewis)
