BANGKOK, Nov 6 (Reuters) - Thai stocks are expected to
track overseas markets higher on Friday, boosted by positive
U.S. economic data and some better-than-expected quarterly
profits, analysts said.
Petrochemicals firm IRPC PCL IRPC.BK should be in focus
after it reported a net profit of 2.3 billion baht in the third
quarter, well above expectations, against a loss of 4.43
billion baht a year earlier. [ID:nBAK002918]
"The market should rebound following overseas markets. But
the rise might be capped by concern about political issues as
the latest diplomatic action between Thailand and Cambodia
doesn't look good," said Chakkrit Charoenmetachai, an analyst
with Far East Securities.
Thailand and Cambodia recalled their ambassadors from each
other's countries on Thursday, deepening a diplomatic row after
Cambodia made fugitive former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin
Shinawatra an economic adviser. [ID:nBKK246900]
On Thursday, the benchmark SET index fell 0.66 percent to
681.91, dragged down by profit-taking in major banks and energy
heavyweights.
