Thai Hot Stocks-Index pares loss after GDP forecast

BANGKOK, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Thailand's stock index .SETI was down 2.06 percent at 689.43 at 0813 GMT on Thursday, recovering a little ground after the Bank of Thailand announced more positive economic forecasts. [nBKT003120]
Earlier in afternoon trade, the index slid 2.6 percent to 685.39, its lowest since Oct. 15. The fall was in line with most regional markets.
Turnover was relatively thin at 15 billion baht ($448 million).
Stocks on the move include:
ENERGY STOCKS .SETEN LEAD FALL ON LOWER OIL
The energy sub-index led declines, falling 2.8 percent, with PTT PTT.BK, top oil and gas firm, losing 3.2 percent to 243 baht after hitting 242 baht, its lowest in almost two months.
PTT Exploration and Production PTTE.BK edged down 3.3 percent at 146.50 baht and top refiner Thai Oil TOP.BK was 2.3 percent lower at 42.75 baht.
Analysts said investors took profits from oil recent's rally.
Oil prices CLc1 fell towards $77 a barrel, extending the previous session's decline of 2.6 percent, on concerns over the pace of economic recovery. [ID:nSYD349136]
By 0541 GMT, light crude was down 14 cents at $77.32 a barrel.

TOTAL ACCESS COMMUNICATION DTAC.BK FALLS AFTER RESULTS
The number two mobile phone operator eased 2 percent to 37.75 baht after reporting an 11 percent fall in net profit, hurt by a weak economy, but it beat market forecasts. [ID:nBKK111628]

THAI AIRWAYS THAI.BK AT TWO-WEEK LOW
National carrier lost 2.4 percent to 20.4 baht, its lowest since Oct. 16. Australia's competition regulator has started court action against the Thai carrier as part of an investigation into alleged price-fixing in the air cargo industry. [ID:nSYU008956]

BANGCHAK PETROLEUM BCP.BK AT TWO-WEEK LOW
The oil refiner fell 2.1 percent to 13.7 baht, its lowest since Oct. 16, after it said its average refining margin, excluding the impact from its oil inventory, should be at around $5-6 a barrel in 2010 versus $7-8 in 2009.

SIAM INDUSTRIAL CREDIT SICC.BK HITS 3-YEAR HIGH
The financial firm surged 6 percent to 5.3 baht, earlier hitting 5.6 baht, its highest since November 10, 2006.
A newspaper quoted a commercial bank source as saying South Korea's KB Kookmin Bank was among interested buyers for a 38.65 percent stake in the financial firm that major shareholder Siam Commercial Bank wanted to sell.
Broker Finansia Syrus said in a research note it expected the acquisition price to be lower than 1.5 times SICCO's estimated book value of 6.45 baht. 0407 GMT
SAHAVIRIYA STEEL SSI.BK UP AHEAD OF RESULTS
The country's biggest hot-rolled coil maker gained 2.3 percent to 1.3 baht ahead of quarterly results expected later in the day.
Four analysts polled by Reuters had an average third quarter net profit forecast of 920 million baht for the steel firm, reversing from a net loss last year, helped by rising product prices.
