Thai stocks set to edge higher on energy buying
BANGKOK, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Thai stocks are expected to rise on Thursday, extending gains from the previous day, with investors likely to snap up energy shares hit by a recent sell-off, analysts said.
However, falls on other Asian bourses may dampen sentiment, they said.
"There's still buying of energy shares after the stocks faced heavy selling earlier. Rising oil prices should help fuel buying," said Kavee Chukitkasem, head of research at Kasikorn Securities.
U.S. crude futures held above $80 a barrel in early trade after U.S. crude inventories showed an unexpected decline. At 0101 GMT, NYMEX crude for December delivery CLc1 was down 40 cents at $80.
