Samsung to export $5 bln in handsets from Vietnam plant-govt
HANOI, Oct 29 (Reuters) - South Korea's mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) plans to export $5 billion worth of mobile handsets from its first factory in Vietnam in 2010, the Vietnamese government quoted the company as saying.
Samsung will ship about 6 million handsets next year and provide work for 10,000 Vietnamese workers at its $1-billion plant in Bac Ninh province, on the outskirts of Hanoi, the government said in a report on its website www.chinhphu.vn.
