 - The battle to determine who is the rightful chief
minister of Perak state is scheduled to be heard at the Federal
Court at 9.00am (0100).
 - RAM Ratings to present Malaysian Banking Update at

 - Launch of Al-Rajhi Bank's participation in MEPS shared
ATM network at 9.00 am (0100).
 - Signing ceremony between GB Services Bhd (a wholly owned
subsidiary of Genting Bhd), CIMB Investment Bank Bhd and HSBC
Bank Malaysia Bhd on the 1.45 billion ringgit medium term notes
(MTN) issuance at 3.45 pm (0745).
 - Minister of Finance II Ahmad Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah to

 MARKET SNAPSHOTS
 * Malaysia's benchmark stock index .KLSE rose to its highest
in a week, up 0.93 percent on Wednesday, led by palm oil stocks
and banks. [.KLSE]
 * U.S. stocks rallied but lost steam on Wednesday after the
Federal Reserve said it would keep rates near zero for "an
extended period" even as it expressed confidence in the conomic
recovery.   [.N]
 * Oil prices rose by 1 percent on Wednesday after government
data showed an unexpected decline in U.S. crude inventories,
and the U.S. Federal Reserve said it planned to keep interest
rates low.  [O/R]

percent on Wednesday to hit two-month highs as rising crude oil

 ASIA MARKETS NEWS - For an outlook of Asian stock trading,
click on [STXNEWS/AS] - The Indonesian rupiah initially fell on
Wednesday on concerns tighter monetary policy could prompt more
government bond selling, but it rebounded after the central
bank kept rates on hold and sounded dovish on inflation.
[EMRG/FRX] - Most Southeast Asian markets rose on Wednesday,
recovering from losses the previous session, with banks and
palm oil stocks leading gains in Malaysia, pushing the market
to its highest in a week. [.SO]
