MILAN, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Italian cable maker Prysmian SpA (PRY.MI) said New Zealand's antitrust body had started an investigation to assess commercial practices in the submarine or underground high-voltage cable market.

Prysmian, which operates in 38 countries, did not elaborate in a statement on Wednesday.

Earlier this year, the company said antitrust authorities in certain countries were examining commercial practices in submarine or underground high-voltage cable market and it was cooperating with them.

In September, Prysmian said Australia had opened a probe. [ID:nN23412802] (Reporting by Danilo Masoni; Editing by Steve Orlofsky)
