UPDATE 2-Sirius sees more savings, sub growth disappoints

As a result of the subscriber growth, Sirius sees pro forma revenue of about $2.4 billion in 2008, with 2009 revenue at $2.7 billion. That also fell short of the views of many analysts, some of whom had expected revenue to top $3 billion in 2009.

Making good on one of its merger promises, Sirius also said it plans to start offering programming from the formally rival services on Oct. 6. For example, current XM subscribers can pay about $17 a month -- $4 premium to their typical rate -- to hear Howard Stern's shows on their radios.
